As of tonight, I haven’t been to worried about con safety. I usually have a group of people to hang around with, but as of tonight, there’s a new safety measure to be worried of. GETTING HOME.
If you take public transportation, you should always travel in pairs. I always try to, but sometimes it just doesn’t happen. I had an incident tonight with some people, which resulted in an innocent getting beat down, and me having to talk to the cops as a witness for twenty minutes.
Please, congoers, if you take public transportation, travel in pairs, especially at night. If you’re unsure or nervous, call a cab.
I am probably the worst person to be around as con season comes closer. Either my procrastination is awful, or something has a way of not working out as perfectly as I imagined. Being a perfectionist, it really bothers me, and sometimes can send me into some sort of nervous breakdown. It started with my Amano-inspired Aeris (no time to finish, held up with safety pins, wig was a sort-of-disaster, sobbing ensuied), but it worked out great with the circumstances.

My first post was about my progress with SeeD Uniform!Selphie and Distant Worlds. Breaking it down, Distant Worlds was the most epic and amazing experience of my natural born life. The skirt only needed to be hemmed and the zipper added, but the jacket was a complete and utter mess. I bought a pattern by Burda, and will never repeat the mistake again. Though handy, the instructions were vague, and seemed to focus more on the alternate style of jacket. Until I find another pattern, SeeD!Selphie is on hold.
In celebration of going to see Distant Worlds in Boston in March, I have decided to make and cosplay Selphie (formal SeeD uniform). Since I had been planning to cosplay her for Anime Boston, to begin with, I find it quite fitting, especially since Final Fantasy VIII was my first Final Fantasy. Ever. The thought of being able to listen to Liberi Fatali six rows from the center….as Selphie….blows my mind. Wooooosh. Continue reading →
